Just as it has been ever since its beginning, the REVART specialized review continues to be a unique presence among the Romanian specialized reviews. Its aim is to create a culture of qualitative research acts and to disseminate information in Arts theory and critique. The first issue appeared in 2005 and during 2005-2007 the specialized review appeared once a trimester at the “Cartea Universitara” publishing house. Since 2007 it has been published at the highest graphic standards by the AEGIS publishing house in Timisoara, onece a semestrer, under the close guidance of Emil Popescu, the executive of the publishing house. Since 2009, due to its qualitative articles and essays and its editors and collaborators, REVART has been a project on the Cultural Agenda of the Timis County Coucil, thus becoming a constant presence for that segment of the public who is interested in art and culture, given the wide thematic range and the high degree of spirituality inherent in the articles written by great university professors, lecturers and collaborators, either Romanians or foreigners. In 2009 the website www.revart.ro was created as well.
Starting with 2010 the specialized review is being edited jointly by the AEGIS publishing house and the Faculty of Music from the University of the West in Timisoara. Presently it is due to receive two ISSN, one for the international online edition in Romanian and one for the international online edition in English, the latter being distributed exclusively through three international databases, European and extra European: CEEOL – Frankfurt, Germany and EBSCO – U.S.A, Index Copernicus - Poland. In order for the specialized review to meet the new quality criteria, the Scientific Board has been replenished with great national and international personalities.
REVART has signed partnerships with renown universities and other cultural institutions from Romania and from around the world: The Centre for Excellence in the domain of conjoint education, culture and artistry from the “Gheorghe Dima” Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca; The Faculty of Music from the “Transylvania” University in Brasov, The Faculty of Music from the “Spiru Haret” University in Bucharest. Other partnerships are awaiting the final agreement in order to be official.
REVART has also signed an agreement with faculties from university centers such as Timisoara, Brasov, Cluj in order to publish the most valuable research studies and essays from the International Conferences organized by those institutions.
